Protaras, Cyprus

Protaras is one of the most popular resorts in Cyprus for families and couples. As well as having the famous Fig Tree Bay Beach there is a long strip about 1 kilometre long full of shops, bars and restaurants. Protaras is also connected to the neighbouring resort of Pernera which is a 10 minute walk along the brand new sea front pathway which is also floodlit at night.

In the evening there is the Magic Dancing Water Display which is a beautiful site and a must see for those who are new to the area. Protaras Strip is often a starting point for the younger generation who are planning on partying in Ayia Napa as a place to warm up. Then go on a short ride by taxi (approx 15 Euros) or by bus which is only 1 Euro and runs every 20 minutes or so from the Protaras Strip.

If Fig Tree Bay Beach is too busy and crowded for your liking then why not try some of the more undiscovered beaches like Konnos Beach, Sunrise Beach or Cavo Maris Beach. You will still find them extremely clean and well looked after but are still offering everything from a snack to all different kinds of water-sports.
